Introduction

Welcome to Derot ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Derot (the "App"), a screen time control tool that helps you block distracting apps, build habits, and earn screen time through meaningful progress.

2

Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use Derot, you may provide:

  • Profile information: Display name and app preferences
  • Habit data: Habit names, schedules, completion logs, streaks, and timer sessions
  • Photos: Images you choose to capture for habit verification or your personal gallery
  • Support communications: Your name, email address, and any information you include when contacting us

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use Derot, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage Data: Features used, session duration, and in-app interactions
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers
  • Crash Reports: Anonymous crash and diagnostic data to help us improve stability
  • Purchase Data: Subscription status and transaction identifiers provided by Apple or Google

2.3 App Blocking and Screen Time Data

When you enable app blocking, Derot processes the apps you select for restriction using platform-provided Screen Time or usage access APIs. On supported devices, selected applications are stored locally as opaque tokens and are not transmitted to our servers.

2.4 Optional Health Data

If you grant permission, Derot may read step count data from Apple HealthKit or equivalent health services solely to verify walking or movement habits. This data is processed on your device to confirm habit completion and is not written back to HealthKit unless explicitly stated in the App.

3

Device Permissions

Derot may request the following permissions to provide core functionality:

  • Screen Time / Usage Access: To block selected apps and monitor usage limits you configure
  • Camera: To capture photos for habit check-ins when you choose to use this feature
  • Notifications: To send habit reminders, streak alerts, and plan updates
  • Health Data (optional): To verify step-based or movement habits when enabled

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features may not work without the required permissions.

4

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide app blocking, habit tracking, and screen time unlock features
  • Deliver your 21-day recovery plan, streaks, and progress analytics
  • Process and validate Premium subscriptions and lifetime purchases
  • Send reminders and notifications you enable
  • Improve, personalize, and maintain the App
  • Analyze aggregated usage patterns to enhance features
  • Respond to support requests and fix technical issues

We do not sell your personal data.

5

Third-Party Services

Derot may use third-party services that collect information:

5.1 Apple Services

  • App Store: Payment processing, subscription management, and standard analytics
  • Screen Time APIs: FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings for app blocking on supported iOS devices
  • HealthKit: Optional read-only access to step count data for habit verification
  • Push Notifications: Apple's notification service for reminders you opt into

5.2 Google Services

  • Google Play: Payment processing, subscription management, and standard analytics on Android devices
  • Usage Access: Platform APIs required for app blocking and screen time controls on supported Android devices

5.3 Analytics

We may use anonymous or aggregated analytics tools to understand how users interact with the App. Where possible, this data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

6

Data Storage and Security

6.1 Local Storage

Much of your data — including habit logs, photos, streak history, app blocking selections, and progress analytics — is stored locally on your device. App blocking preferences on supported platforms are processed and stored locally using opaque identifiers.

6.2 Cloud and Account Data

If you create an account or enable cloud sync in future versions of the App, selected data may be stored on secure servers to sync across your devices. We will update this policy if such features become available.

6.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7

Children's Privacy

Derot is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for optional permissions such as camera or health data access
  • Opt out of analytics collection where applicable

Because much of your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing habit entries, photos, or uninstalling the App. To exercise any additional rights, please contact us at the email below.

9

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
